SETsquared is leading a Clean Tech mission to Boston for Massachusetts Clean Energy Week 9th – 13th November 2009. The Massachusetts region is recognised as one of the leading areas in the US for clean tech activity with a wealth of stellar research and facilities, numerous start-ups and a strong green investor community. SETsquared’s four Universities, Bath, Bristol, Southampton and Surrey, and the Southern England region, contains a very strong Clean Tech cluster. Each of the Universities has their own Environment Research Centre and SETsquared is involved in Low Carbon South West network, and soon to be launched Low Carbon South East, and technologies journal, Low Carbon.
This mission brings together the best from Southern England in the clean energy sector with this dynamic clean tech region in the US. The mission is being supported by UKTI, Science and Innovation Office, British Consulate General in Boston and the South West Regional Development Agency. The activities are two-fold:
Clean Energy Applied Research Discovery Workshop
With support from the Science and Innovation Network (S&I) in Boston, this workshop brings together Biofuel, Energy Storage and Management academics from the Universities of Bath, Bristol, Southampton and Surrey with academics from across the Massachusetts, New England and New York institutions to explore potential for collaborative projects. Clean Energy Companies Market Access Support
With the support of UKTI and SETsquared, we are providing the opportunity for 4 to 5 clean energy start-ups to gain access to potential customers, partners and investors in the Massachusetts area and accelerate the development of their business into the US. For more information please click here.
